    Supply Chain Awareness

We get to know our supply chain and then share information about our supply chain partners with you. In developing our supply chain we evaluate each step around its impact on people and our planet:

People: Are the people involved in each step of our supply chain treated with dignity? Do we respect their rights, voices, and communities? We ask that each individual, company, and organization we work with domestically and internationally uphold these values. For our part, we pay the true cost of production, and we protect worker rights at each step in line with the 10 fair trade principles.

Planet: What is the environmental footprint of each step in the product creation process and how are animals treated along the way? We evaluate the environmental impact of our fabric and the carbon footprint of transportation, aiming to source as many materials as reasonably possible in the same region of the world.

    Global Women’s Empowerment

Women make up the majority of the workforce in the global garment industry, which has all too often disregarded their rights, safety, value, and voice. We only work with supply chain partners who share our commitment to the inherent dignity of all people and demonstrate it by promoting gender equity and women’s empowerment.

    Connectivity and Education

We aim to combat the invisibility and lack of transparency so common in this industry through consumer education. We actively seek opportunities to partner with and support others who share our vision for transformative, industry-wide change. Restorative Justice

Restorative justice focuses on providing rehabilitation and reconciliation between victims, offenders, and the community. It is a central value in our work to remedy the market failure and exploitation that has become the industry norm. South Asia in particular has suffered at the hands of irresponsible practices in the garment industry, and for this reason we prioritize sourcing from socially conscious partners in this region when appropriate materials are available.

    Natural Beauty

The fashion industry all too often promotes an unrealistic and harmful standard of “beauty”. We thoughtfully consider whether our imagery depicts a healthy view of women and their bodies. Not only is this the right thing to do, but it gives you a sense of how clothing will fit and flatter.

We also incorporate this idea into our products themselves. Our materials are breathable and better for your health than the toxic synthetics we’ve all gotten used to. We only use sustainably sourced materials like organic cotton in all our products.

    Slow Fashion

The fashion industry can only improve when we all buy less and buy better. We all must pay the true cost of production, rather than the cheap prices made possible by cutting corners around sustainability.

We invite you to view clothing as an investment rather than fast fashion. To this effect, we produce meticulously and thoughtfully developed, flattering, and timeless clothing in the spirit of slow fashion that pairs well with other items in your wardrobe for your signature, polished look.

    Wazal Couture

    Wazal collection 2016/2017
    Called "Ova Tété"

    Wazal collection 2016

    Wazal collection 2016

    Wazal collection 2016

This collection is inspired by a Cameroonian slang 'ova' which means bigger and noble person. And Tété which refers to chic and bourgeois. In addition, the word chic here is used to describe the amazing and modern appearance of the clothings. Therefore those who have good taste and know how to well dress are characterized as chic.

Noble and quality materials were used in this collection, including first choice wax (African print) from Senegal or Mali. I will say this collection is indecent, 10 years in advance or shameless 5 years in advance. I prefer being ahead because the fashion world is in constant évolutions.

    JJ BIOGRAPHY OF STYLE
AYISSI NGA Joseph-Marie aka JJ DU STYLE is a fashion designer who creates very chic street wear. The French/Cameroonian designer whose father was a tailor, has decided to follow the footsteps of pioneer Cameroonian fashion designers such as Imane Ayissi and Martial Topolo by creating his own clothing line called 'WAZAL' which was launched in 2005. In 2006, he launched his first designs which are worn by some celebrities such as SINGUILA, Alpeco, WAYNE BECKFORD, ROMARIC Koffi and Lalcko. His brand "WAZAL" is a blend of “WAZA”, the name of a natural park in the extreme north of Cameroon and the letter “L” which stands for Lion, the Cameroonian symbol. The natural park symbolizes respect, while the lion symbolizes power.

WAZAL COUTURE fashion universe expresses more of casual wear in a constant search of innovations, new styles and creativity. In the mixture of many various colors, and various prints, he adds and blends other materials such as pure cotton, denim jean, wax, leather, fur, synthetic just to name a few. He went through a professional training in VANESSA RUIZ fashion school in Paris and he later on specialized in creating tuxedo jackets. The first was thus created in 2013 under the declination "Tete fly." In 2013, he was part of the guests of the Ambassador of Cameroon to Paris for the exhibition of the feast of the Cameroonian youth and the Fashion Night Lounge at the Elysee Palace in Paris, where he presented his three concepts: WazalRock, fly Tété and Africafutur.

These concepts are based on criteria which since the beginning symbolized his career: Daring, Respect and Creation. Wazal cuts and designs are impressive and modern; moreover it follows the latest trends today.

Rock the “Dress Over Pant” Trend This Fall With Alexa Taylor

We’ve all been there. You’ve spent your entire wardrobe budget on pretty dresses and skirts, and now that summer is over you’re wondering how these beauties are going to transition to fall. My client, Alexa Taylor, fashion blogger and style expert, believes that this fall everyone can Raise the sartorial bar with the dress-over-pants look (or D.O.P. for short). The new modern way to pull of a D.O.P, according to Alexa, is decidedly more streamlined and sophisticated. And, it isn’t tough to master at all.

Emma Watson may have brought the D.O.P. idea back to the masses this past awards season, but these 5 fashionable ladies selected by Alexa Taylor were rocking the look long before the fashion-forward actress.

Checkout the tips to achieving this look!

    1. Casually Cool: A sweater dress over jeans is proof that a statement piece (or two) can amp up any old look. One tip to keep in mind when rocking skinnies underneath a heavy dress and coat combo is keep them as skin-tight as possible.

    2. Sophisticated Layering: Nothing is worse than making a 45-minute commute in a pencil skirt and heels, and it’s even worse when it’s blistering cold. Alexa Taylor loves this office-appropriate layering trick — a simple, straight-cut dress over slim pants.

    3. Edgy Princess: While this D.O.P. has nothing to do with utility, you’ll no doubt get attention from street style shutterbugs in a wispy look (even if you are shivering). The man-repelling Leandra adds a punch of drama to an otherwise boring outfit with layered tulle and two-tone tap shoes.

    4. Pretty in Pink: Not only do leather pants add a dose of badass to a super girly getup, but they allow you to wear that too-short-to-be-worn-alone babydoll dress. Alexa loves how this editor mixes her prints.

    5. The Mix Master: Who says duck boots have to be frumpy? Take a cue from Taylor Tomasi Hill, the crimson-haired editor-turned-florist, in this winter-ready outfit. She’s a pro when it comes to mixing flashy accessories like this glam gold plated belt ($20) with everyday staples like this oversized plaid shirt.

(BPRW) Legendary Fashion Designer B Michael Partners with Macy’s to Present His Debut Runway Fashion Show at the 47th Annual NAACP Image Awards Luncheon on Feb. 4

Actress and Singer Brandy Norwood to model his iconic designs in the show

(Black PR Wire) LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Macy’s has partnered with couture and ready-to-wear designer B Michael to produce the first b Michael America runway fashion show at this year’s NAACP Image Awards luncheon, which honors the nominees of the 47th annual NAACP Image Awards, on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, at the Langham Hotel in Pasadena, CA. Actress and singer Brandy Norwood, known for her work on “Moesha,” “I Still Know What You Did Last Summer,” and “Cinderella,” will walk in the fashion show. B Michael previously dressed the star for her media junkets during her run in “Chicago” on Broadway and also collaborated with her costume designer on her new series for BET, “Zoe Ever After.”

Following a panel discussion, the fashion show will feature social dresses from the b Michael America Red collection, available exclusively at select Macy’s stores and on macys.com, and close with several pieces from his couture collection.

“I’m proud to be a part of the NAACP Image Awards luncheon and celebrate the exemplary works by the undeniably talented nominees who work so hard to promote diversity in the arts,” said B Michael. “It’s an honor to dress Brandy again for the fashion show, and I’m grateful to have the continued support of Macy’s, which has been such a valuable partner.”

Known for designing dresses for icons such as Whitney Houston, Lena Horne, Cicely Tyson, and Valerie Simpson, B Michael launched his ready-to-wear collection b Michael America Red at Macy’s in 2012 to reach a broader audience. The easy-to-wear collection, which ranges in price between $225 for dresses to $650 for gowns, offers a contemporary spin on the designer’s signature haute couture style, resulting in a simple yet sophisticated look.

“Macy’s is extremely excited to be a part of the NAACP Image Awards luncheon with B Michael, who is such an inspiring talent and leader in the fashion community,” said Louis Mastrogiacomo, Macy’s executive vice president and general merchandise manager of ready-to-wear. “We look forward to our continued partnership and the success of b Michael America Red at Macy’s.”

    Delia Alleyne Atelier

The “Let’s Paint” women’s fashion collection created for spring and summer of 2016 offers a splash of colorful contrast against black silhouettes. Fashion Designer, Delia Alleyne introduced the line during the September 2015 market week in New York City. The looks include rompers, jackets, funky trousers and that classic little black dress. The “Let’s Paint” collection is splashy, bold and is styled with a retro artist’s cap that makes the collection reminiscent of the psychedelic sixties. The applied fabrics range from nets to denim, to brocades as the paint splatter and appliquéing adds detail and an interesting design element to the collection.

“Painting is like a metaphor for life...”, explains Delia. “We are born as blank canvases waiting to be. Then moment by moment, stroke by stroke... We create life’s memories by applying one colorful moment in our life at a time.”

Delia, with her distinguished pink hairstyle, has a passion for colorful fashions. Residing in Trinidad and Tobago, Delia creates fashions tailored towards confident women. Her personal clients are bold about making a grand appearance during special occasions, nightlife hot spots and red carpet showcases. Delia is inspired by the many crafty artists who surround her Caribbean nation. She began her career designing fashion gowns for pageantry. Delia’s tenure at Trinidad’s Caribbean Academy of Fashion and Design school prepared her for a mentorship working on costume design projects with the famed Caribbean couturieres Meiling Esau. Delia strives to bring an avant-garde genre of fashion design into ready-to-wear by applying unique design details, and using finer fabrics. Delia’s goal is for the “Let’s Paint” collection to become a luxuriant lifestyle brand that is recognized throughout the Caribbean.

SCARFFIE

    SCARFFIE

My name is Marie Galloway and I'm the inventor of SCARFFIE and owner of SCARFFIE.com. I am an African American small business owner who sells my product SCARFFIE at several state fairs and vendor events throughout Southern California.

My patented Product SCARFFIE is the only scarf with pocket-sleeves made for holding keys, cell phones and wallets. Should you become cold, simply insert arms into pocket-sleeves and wrap for warmth and comfort. SCARFFIE is made in the USA by a 5 star manufacturer with high quality materials for men, women and children.

I invented SCARFFIE after being ill for several years (LUPUS) and needing a safe place to carry my personal items and a way to keep warm while visiting the hospital. To date, me and my team have sold nearly 60,000 scarffies with only 3 returns and 4 exchanges. Please visit my website scarffie.com for more information. We are currently getting ready for San Diego Co fair, but have plenty of inventory and equipment to partake in any event. We can travel anywhere in the US.

My product sells very well at just about any event and will be a great addition any of yours.
