The List
by Tymira Mack

Mack has presented her life as an open book to help young women realize their worth. Beginning at age 14 she chronicles her sexual encounters. She said she, “hooked up with 40 guys over a period of ten years.” The first sexual encounter occurred after she thought her girlfriend had lost her virginity, however, she later found out that wasn’t the case.

Although Mack came from a good home and had loving parents, she felt something was missing. “An honor student by day and a drug smoking hoochie by night,” Mack appeared to be addicted to sex, traveling from her college campus in Florida to neighboring Georgia for one night stands. While a college student she even engaged in sexual activities with high school boys.

Left with an incurable STD, Mack uses “The List,” as her platform to urge teens to remain abstinent until marriage and to encourage women to move past failures and to forgive themselves.

The List also comes with a handy glossary of buzzwords, discussion questions and a practical guide to tackling your own list! Every young girl should read this book.

Pearls from the Soul
by Mignon Renae Spencer

Spencer has really set a new standard with this work. The commentary, which precedes each offering, is thought provoking and prepares the reader’s heart for the poetry which follows. Spencer informs the reader of the fact that, "a pearl, like the human subconsciousness, is made by a living animal.

Truly an assortment of inspiration pieces, some of the poems speak of love, friends, and even childhood memories of outside clotheslines and wringer washers,
in "The Rain Is Coming." Other great verses are titled, "Father’s Day", Slavery Is In My Family", and "The Empty Nest."

Spencer’s most powerful voice is probably evidenced when she speaks of the sovereignty of God, and it’s as if the reader is enjoying something from the book of Psalms.

Readers should be prepared to savor every page of, "Pearls from the Soul." And, they are advised to listen intently, for a choir is surely to appear and sing Gregorian Chants as their souls celebrate!

Read the commentary and poem below:

Many Are Called

God is calling every believer. You may not be an apostle, prophet, pastor, evangelist, preacher, or deacon. You may be a doctor, lawyer, housewife or construction worker or bank teller. You may be a singer, musician or orchestra leader. He has no respect of person, position or title. He simply desires to use every gift and every calling to minister to the world. The field is white for harvest, but the laborers are few.

Many Are Called
From the womb I gave your name.
My wondrous destiny to your fame.

The very hairs on your head I numbered.
Know that my yoke will not encumber.

For you, I chose the refiner’s fire.
You will reap, if you do not tire.

See my face in your reflection.
Feel my soft nudge of election.
