As soon as a car carrier drops off a load of new vehicles at a dealership, most of them remain on the lot for an average of sixty days or more before they are sold. However, the vehicles on JeffCars.com fastest-selling car list were as hot as fire crackers last month. They rolled off of lots within twenty days.
Most dealers won't be offering big discounts or rebates on JeffCars.com's fastest-selling vehicles. (To find the JeffCars.com Best Month-End Deals, click here.) The Jeep Patriot is the only vehicle on our list being sold this month with a $1,000 national rebate. In fact, being that African Americans spend over $28 billion purchasing new and pre-owned vehicles annually, according to Target Market News, this listing will help savvy car-buyers know how much they should expect to dole out. As opposed to the MSRP (Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price), this list reflects the average transaction price consumers paid to tool around town in a hot ride last month.
With the exception of the Toyota Prius, most of the models on our list are all-new or have recently been extensively updated. Until now, imports have dominated this list. This is the first time this year three domestic vehicles have appeared on the list: Saturn Sky, Jeep Patriot and GMC Arcadia. Moreover, although the average national gas price hovered around $3.00 a gallon last month, consumers were still buying a crop of redesigned high-dollar vehicles - Lexus LS, Mercedes-Benz CL, Audi TT and BMW 5-Series.
Since consumers may not be able to maximize their savings by negotiating the price alone, they should consider arranging their financing prior to heading into a dealership. Recent studies continue to reveal that African Americans may still receive higher interest rates if they don't do their homework. JeffCars.com car-payment calculator and online financing tools are available to help car shoppers figure out their monthly notes and secure financing prior to visiting a dealership.
