Keeping hair moisturized while wearing braids is crucial to keeping breakage at bay. Although a lot of popular natural products contain Shea butter, this is a poor product to use for hair conditioning. Shea Butter is nothing more than 'wood glue' and it coats the hair and clogs the pores much like beeswax does. the ideal hair conditioner:

  • can be washed out easily
  • Light weight
  • softens and shines the hair
  • can be used with extensions or natural hair

You can make really great conditioner for your braided style by mixing:

  • 1 part cold pressed coconut oil
  • 1 part`vegetable glycerin
  • 1 part distilled water

Do this simple recipe and your hair wil remain soft and subtle for the entire time your wearing your extensions. You can use it everyday or twice a week, it's your choice.

Remember that braids are to enhance your own hair, not to destroy it.
