When I was young, I set out to conquer the world with my skills and talents. I didn't always listen to my parent's advice or listen to godly counsel. I took hold of ambition yet pushed back patience. I sought to satisfy my soul with the knowledge to obtain titles, positions, and things. Although I considered myself to be a good person and always tried to do the right thing, my heart was far from God. I was not living by his standards, but by my own view of righteousness.

Seeking God rarely crossed my mind until I realized that only what He gives me will be everlasting. Until the challenges of life brought me to my knees making me see how fragile we are. Until I realized that the things I obtained didn't bring me lasting joy and peace of mind. Until I understood that I was more than a job or career. This was when I came to my senses and I remembered the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus. The one who said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." At this moment I saw how foolish it was to commit to my own way and the way that this world loves and adores. I submitted and let Jesus be the Lord of my life.

Reflections Of Life
I became born again! I yielded myself to be a vessel on God's potter's wheel, and He reshaped me. Even now Christ is making me into a work of his design. At one time, the man before you couldn't understand the ways of those that were sold out and totally committed to God. Now, ThisBrother can't understand how I could have ever lived any other way. I still have problems and struggles; however, despite my circumstances, the Lord is my peace and shelter. He is where I have my hope, faith, and trust. He will not abandon me. I praise his holy name!
