    RABBL

With summer approaching, people are looking for music concerts to attend, but don’t have a say when it comes to getting their favorite artists to play their hometown—until now.

    RABBL

Today, RABBL—the world’s first social booking platform—introduces RABBL Tour, a new service allowing fans to determine when and where an artist’s music tour should stop!

Teaming up with RABBL to pioneer this new feature, Rapper Jonn Hart (who has garnered support from big hip-hop artists including French Montana), is allowing fans to choose where his West Coast summer tour stops. Hart has selected 17 potential tour dates throughout California, Nevada, and Arizona, opening up his RABBL Tour for fans to vote. In order to vote, Jonn Hart fans must simply reserve a ticket in whichever town they’d like to see him perform. If the goal amount of tickets are “reserved,” fans are charged and the show is then booked!

RABBL Tour eliminates risk for both artists and venues, as shows will only take place if fan interest is proven. Additionally, by simply “reserving” tickets, fans only pay the ticket cost if the show happens—eliminating fan risk!

You can learn more about RABBL and Jonn Hart’s unique partnership, as well as vote on Hart’s RABBL Tour, by visiting: www.rabbl.com/jonnhart

We’d love for you to share about RABBL’s exciting new feature, RABBL Tour, with your readers! I’d be more than happy to connect you with Jonn Hart to further enlighten you on his experience with the new feature, as well as the benefits of using RABBL for his tour. If you would like to speak with the founder of RABBL, Wade Lagrone, I’d be more than happy to connect you to him as well. Please let us know if you would like any additional information.

    About RABBL:
Rabbl is the leading U.S. service for crowdsourcing concerts, and the world's first social booking platform. We let fans prove real demand for a show in advance, by reserving tickets in artist-approved "rabbls," and voting about where and when shows should happen. With Over 700 artist using the RABBl platform everyday, artist can now determine where the demand is for their shows.

    ABOUT ROCCSTAR
Already an accomplished songwriter and producer at age 24, Leon "RoccStar" Youngblood is creating new waves as one of the youngest CEOs in the industry. RoccStar's songwriting and production credits include Chris Brown, Prince Royce, Rita Ora, Usher, Timbaland, Beyoncé, CeeLo Green, Busta Rhymes and many more. RoccStar, a Los Angeles native, discovered his passion for music at a young age while attending Hollywood High School for Visual and Performing Arts. Making noise on the local music scene, he caught the attention of music mogul and manager Chris Lighty. The two teamed up and quickly sparked a deal with L.A. Reid and Epic Records, signing his first major contract for vocalist Claire Demorest. RoccStar was managed by Violator until Chris Lighty’s untimely passing in 2012.

Following the Epic Records deal, RoccStar became partners with Larry Mestel, CEO of Primary Wave Music. Larry noticed RoccStar's undeniable ear and eye for talent and immediately granted him a publishing company through Primary Wave entitled RoccAge. There, RoccStar is molding his crop of emerging artists, writers and producers like Grammy nominated writer Kris Stephens who collaborated with R&B superstar Tank on his “This Is How I Feel” album.

In early 2013, RoccStar landed the lead single "Fine China" for multi-platinum recording star Chris Brown. Capitalizing on the new found chemistry between the two young sensations, RoccStar went on to produce over half of Brown’s upcoming fifth studio album entitled “X” with collaborations such as Diplo, Timbaland and Danja. Later in 2013, RoccStar secured another monumental deal - a solo recording contract with Atlantic Records. Not only did he land a contract with label president Craig Kallmam but also a label deal. This deal allows him the opportunity to sign acts at will, the first one being 18 year old Rock/Pop singer Carolina Webb.

RoccStarr is currently expanding his RoccAge/Atlantic imprint and publishing company RoccAge/Primary Wave/BMG all while perfecting "Confidence", his debut solo album. The project is scheduled for release on his birthday, October 31, 2014.

Block Party Los Angeles: Celebrates the New Generation of West Coast Hip-Hop

Los Angeles March 12, 2014 --Since the birth of hip-hop in New York over 30 years ago, the art form has evolved into a lifestyle and is truly an inspiration to many around the world. On Saturday March 29th 2014 A. Glaspie Marketing presents Block Party Los Angeles, an experience that will unite, inspire, and celebrate the evolution of hip-hop culture on the west coast. Show casing the new generation of hip-hop music, brands, and Los Angeles block party traditions. This is more than just a concert it’s an experience. The venue is a warehouse that will be transformed into outdoor Los Angeles, giving the audience an old school block party feel. As the musical artist entertain, the crowd can enjoy food from some of city’s most notable food trucks, enjoy unique “street vendors” showcasing their products, and network with other hip-hop lovers.

    Block Party Los Angeles

Created, founded, and coproduced by Ashley Glaspie, of A. Glaspie Marketing, Block Party Los Angles was just a dream, and now her reality. As a lover of hip-hop culture and her savvy business mind she created a platform to help the unknown independent hip–hop artist, as well as unite the community. (BPRW) VH1 Takes an In-Depth Look at How Hip-Hop Became a Dominant Force in American Culture with the Documentary Series “The Tanning of America: One Nation Under Hip Hop”

    - Based On the Best-Selling Book, “The Tanning of America: How Hip-Hop Created A Culture That Rewrote The Rules Of The New Economy” By Steve Stoute • The 4-Part Documentary From VH1’s Emmy Award Winning Rock Doc Franchise Is Set To Premiere Monday, February 24-Thursday, February 27 At 11PM* -

(BLACK PR WIRE) — LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- VH1 is teaming up with acclaimed filmmakers Billy Corben and Alfred Spellman (“Cocaine Cowboys,” “Broke,” “The U”) and famed author, award-winning entrepreneur, advertising executive, and record executive Steve Stoute for a 4-part documentary series based on Stoute’s best-selling book, “The Tanning of America: How Hip-Hop Created a Culture That Rewrote the Rules of the New Economy.” VH1’s “The Tanning of America: One Nation Under Hip Hop” is a thorough examination of hip-hop as a cultural movement, whose profound influence in music, film, television, fashion, business, race relations and politics eventually paved the way for the election of Barack Obama. Stoute notes, “Since its birth, hip-hop has been a reflection of black America, but never before have we seen it cast as such a far-reaching agent of political change. This film paints an entirely new picture of the impact hip-hop culture over the last 30 years.” The 4-part 4-hour series will premiere Monday, February 24-Thursday, February 27 at 11pm* on VH1.

VH1’s “The Tanning of America: One Nation Under Hip Hop” provides a visual history of the hip-hopification of America – what Stoute calls “tanning” -- from “The Jeffersons” to the Fresh Prince; from “Do the Right Thing” to “8 Mile;” from the streets of Compton to Madison Ave; and rappers turned into entrepreneurs and icons. The series unfolds in 4 one-hour episodes that together explore history’s pivotal “tanning” moments from the 1970s to present day, and how deep hip-hop is woven into the American cultural fabric. It’s the history of hip-hop remixed: an epic journey that begins in the Bronx and travels all the way to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

THE LEGEND IS BACK: RONNIE HUDSON WITH “WEST COAST POPLOCK” ANTHEM

Few songs capture the spirit of an entire State like Ronnie Hudson’s “West Coast Poplock” – for those who claim to have never heard the record – I am certain they have at least heard enough of it to know the infamous line –

    “California, knows how to party”

Sampled and interpolated into the international hit single “California Love” by 2pac and Dr Dre. The original West Coast Poplock song was released in 1982 on the indie Street People Records – a label owned and ran by Ronnie Hudson and his manager Mikel Hooks.

    Ronnie Hudson’s “West Coast Poplock

The story of how the record came to be is as fascinating as the long life the record took after its release. It was Mikel Hooks who approached Ronnie with an idea – let’s do a dedication song to the West Coast – using Zapp’s “So Ruff, So Tuff” as the base rhythm for the track. Ronnie was perplexed by this notion of using someone else’s song, he is an innovative bassist, composer, producer and writer in his own right, but little did he know, he was about to innovate a technique that would influence a generation of Hip Hop artists that would follow. Ronnie wrote and sang a new vocal for the track, backed by an army of incredible musicians including Raymond Calhoun, drummer for The Gap Band and with respect to the Troutman’s – The West Coast Poplock outshines Zapp’s version tenfold, creating a juggernaught of Hip Hop funk.

KDAY in Los Angeles broke the record and eventually the song went Gold, but the song never really went away, sampled by Dr Dre several times throughout his career, with 2Pac, Snoop Dogg, NWA, Mos Def, Xzibit, WC, also the song was featured on Grand Theft Auto. Ronnie Hudson has proved he has a timeless musical vision.

Born in Washington D.C., Ronnie began developing his craft at the early age of sixteen, playing bass in the band of his friend and mentor, Charles Harrington. He eventually started his own band Chapter One, With Al Johnson, after playing with Chuck Brown and the Soul Searchers.
    Ronnie Hudson’s “West Coast Poplock

He later moved to Memphis, Tennessee to become one of Stax Records renowned recording bassist. At Stax Records Ronnie recorded and toured with Isaac Hayes on his Grammy winning sound track for 70's hit movie, Shaft, and multi platinum, Black Moses. He also recorded and co-produced super hits with Rufus Thomas on the Breakdown, and Luther Ingram on “If (Loving you is wrong I don't want to be right)”. These projects are just a few of the major hits which Ronnie was involved in. It’s no underestimation to call Ronnie a legend of West Coast urban music and for 2014 Ronnie is back on the West Coast with a brand new remixed and remastered version of his 1982 hit – you can hear the record: HERE

Next up for Ronnie will be an almighty remix called “WestCoastin’” featuring Ronnie with many of the rappers he has inspired, including, Snoop Dogg, E-40, Too Short, Rappin 4-Tay and Celly Cel. Music is a part of Ronnie Hudson’s DNA: music lovers of every generation across multiple genres have continued to be moved and inspired by this great pioneering artist.

    Genesis LXG

A former NBA player (Los Angeles Clippers) (New Jersey Nets) has always been a lyrically gifted artist who made his debut in highschool on the Stretch Armstrong and Bobito WKCR show. Discovered by Reggie Osse former lawyer for Sean puffy Combs, he was then in meetings with P Diddy, Atlantic Records and Def Jam. Opting to take a full athletic scholarship instead of an offer with Bad Boy Records, Genesis LXG excelled and soon signed with the Los Angeles Clippers. After being released he was then assigned to the NBDL in SC. It was there he began to record again.

He caught the ear of the head programmer of the top radio show in South Carolina, his single "Jump Off N**gas" was in heavy rotation. At this time Genesis LXG was on the hit reality show Life In The D League which aired on ESPN. Gaining notoriety from the radio and television, labels began calling again. Upon his return to NY he was signed by the New Jersey Nets. Once again he was forced to make a decision between his true love (music) and basketball. However Genesis LXG left to pursue a career in Europe. Upon returning Genesis LXG reunited with highschool friend Vast Aire of (Cannibal OX) the seller of over 100,000 records, and together they formed L.X.G. This is the second group the duo formed, in highschool they started the group (Atoms Family). He appeared on the internet smash hit "Battle Of The Planets" as well as "Graveyard Shift".

Since then Genesis LXG has appeared on numerous mixtapes and albums by well known and underground artist. In 2007 Genesis LXG Released the critically acclaimed Street Album "Clockwork Orange"

funded by Lamar Odom (Los Angeles Lakers) (Kardashians) who Genesis befriended when they were teammates, and produced by Grammy nominated producer Steve Sola. In 2011 Genesis LXG auditioned for X Factor at the Prudential Center in New Jersey, ironically its where he played as a New Jersey Net. He was a finalist making the final 200 out of 27,000. With Genesis, Astro, who went on to make the show and become a finalist being the only rappers to make it through, this solidified what he already knew. In 2012 Genesis LXG has returned fully focused releasing the heavily downloaded Street Album "The Crown" this has once again made him the subject of labels and industry artist alike.

Early this year Genesis LXG has also been filmed for a pilot called "The Crossover" about a former NBA player attempting to make a comeback to the NBA, while simultaneously trying to land a major recording contract. This pilot was shot by a VH1 camera crew partnered with "Beloved Moving Images". It has been well received and is in heavy green light consideration. Gearing up for his highly anticipated release of the EP "The Invitation" and the album "The Throne" (which will be disributed by Whatevaok Ent/ RED Music : A Division of Sony Music) Genesis LXG is truly the artist to watch for in 2014......

    About Kataztrofee

Kataztrofee is an American Hip-Hop duo consisting Fort Worth Natives Eric “Victory” Johnson and Shannon “Mr. Arrogant” Speed. Victory and Mr Arrogant met in middle school and both quickly became well known for participating in freestyle battles around the city. It didn't take long for them to realize they were better as a group. As their talents blossomed, the two decided on the name “Kataztrofee” after searching the dictionary for words that fit their style. They are best known for shaking up any atmosphere with their assured demeanor, and compelling energy. Although the name derived from the root word catastrophe, they decided to change up the spelling a little. You may notice the cleverly placed word “Fee” at the end, instead of correct "phe". As all natural catastrophe's come with a price some way or another, so does this Kataztrofee.

Their unique color filled attire and innovative thinking separates them from any rap group coming out in this day and age, as well as those before them. Since the duo released their first single, and music video, Polo Polo Polo, they have been making some serious noise, catching attention from top executives at major labels to the Tom's, Dick's, and Harry's in your local neighborhood. At this point, not very many people know the song but know their faces from their cross country and international travels. Trust, it won't be long before Kataztrofee is a household name. Mr. Arrogant and Victory contrast lyrical content reflecting the lifestyles of swaged out fly guys, with self- motivational material, yet they manage to blend in with the party lifestyle, as well as speaking on the sometimes harsh realities of everyday life. The rap duos musical talent is best classed as "originally out of the box", as their every existence drive them to create new sounds, and new ways of thinking. Making it look "cool" comes so natural to them that it's literally icing on the cake to anyone that is looking to partner up and give them their big break.

The Kataztrofee story is still being written as they are charging ahead with such vigor that they leave a smoldering trail in their wake. Stay tuned as these young entrepreneurs, along with their right hand man Keitrick "K-Smoove" Morris, and their family of brilliant producers, talented artists, and gifted actors build a brand that will be noted in history as a brand that captivated audiences and took the world by storm.

VOWCH LAUNCHES INNOVATIVE APP THAT RESHAPES THE WAY USERS MAKE AND DISCOVER RECOMMENDATIONS

    - Offers Users A Way To Creatively Express What They Like, Because No Two Likes Are The Same -

October 21, 2013 (New York, NY) Hip-Hop Heavyweights Reverend Run, DJ Steph Floss and BoB's Shawty Slim have joined forces to launch a new social media app aimed to help users discover emerging, up and coming artists. The app, VOWCH, is like a digital thumbs up - allowing users to creatively share music interests and recommendations through a steady stream of interactive posts / packages.

    VOWCH

"The thing about vowch that I love is that I get to put my very own stamp of approval on the things that are interesting to me. From music, to sports, to random things I see, Vowch is my digital thumbs up on the world around me." said Shawty Slim, B.O.B.'s tour DJ.

VOWCH lets users create compact interactive packages about each of their interests with the option to include a photo, description and media - including music and video. VOWCH adds a competitive element, incentivizing users via a point system that rewards early adopters and those whose vowches drive the most interest. Users have the ability to capture points across multiple categories including music, tech, fashion, etc. VOWCH also allows users to share content via Facebook and Twitter feeds.

We wanted to build a platform that in 30 seconds or less allows you to quickly give your friends a rich picture of what you re into and a taste of why you re into it, says co-founder David Parker, who created the app along with his brother, Jeremy Parker, technologist Amir Ben-Sheffer, and entrepreneur Jesse Itzler, co-founder of Marquis Jet and early partner in Zico Coconut Water. It s amazing how much cool stuff there is out there to discover. But even when people like the same thing, they often like different aspects of it and have different reasons for liking it, Parker continued.

The easy-to-use app lets users create a post (i.e. a vowch) in seconds by simply typing in what you want to vowch for (brand of shoes, TV character, artist, etc.), then tapping on the appropriate category and choosing a cover photo (from your Camera app on iPhone or iPod touch, your photo album or Google Image) to represent the vowch. Give vowches more dimension by adding a YouTube video, song track, link or map. And consuming the content is as easy as swiping the screen on your iPhone or iPod touch.

How a New Orleans hip hop crew reinvented mixtape culture

It's been said that the history of hip hop is told by the tape. It was cassettes, not records, that moved rap from a localized movement to music's mainstream: traveling from parties, to trunks, to radio stations; crossing borders and sonic barriers as they exchanged hands.

As cassette culture's transitioned into MP3 listening, it's easy to wax nostalgic about the mixtape. (And the Internet does.) But it's not all in our past. We spend a lot of time thinking about what's next for content. And recently, we've spent a lot of time thinking about the mixtape as a template for what's possible in digital publishing. Here's why.

It's small. The mixtape took hip hop from a niche scene to a national sound because, unlike vinyl, it was portable and cheap. You didn't need a pressing plant to make one. You didn't need a system of distributors. You could throw it in your pocket, and bring it from NYC to the suburbs.

It's multimedia. Mixtapes were different from the technologies that replaced them for another reason, too. They were complete, immersive experiences; as much about listening, as looking. There was the content, and there was the text, and there was the art. And because there was all that, you heard them in a different way.

It's emotionally durable. The mixtape was a dominant form because it was more than an artifact. It was a social activity. It was linked to a show, a time, a place, a city block. The labels were handwritten or photocopied. You got it from the artist. And you got it from a person. You became attached - in a way that you won't ever be with an MP3.

The mixtape killed music, and then it was killed. But, in fact, from a design perspective: it's pretty in tune with how we listen, circa 2013. If we adapt these principles to 2.0 digital distribution, can we build a better Internet object for artists? What's the mixtape of now?

You could ask Jet Life, the New Orleans hip hop crew who've managed to build a massive following based on mixtape releases. A crazy prolific schedule of music drops has made them one of the Internet's biggest collectives. But it's more than that, too. The stuff that makes them popular falls outside of digital mixtape publishing: video, photography, conversations with fans. We wanted to work with them to create an Internet object that could contain all that.

In August, we collaborated with Jet Life to release the mixtape 2.0 via BitTorrent. The Jet Life BitTorrent Bundle contained tour art, twelve tracks, a documentary film, merchandise discounts, and a chance to hang out with Jet Life. Like an old school mixtape, it was small (one download), multimedia (all kinds of content), and emotionally durable (direct from the artist). Unlike an old-school mixtape, it's built to get stronger over time. Because the Bundle included an email gate, each time content was shared the crew added a reach-able fan to its subscriber base.

What does mixtape 2.0 culture look like? Here's a first look.

    It goes everywhere fans go.
The Jet Life BitTorrent Bundle became a social object:

4MM downloads, or 4 times as many downloads as distribution on traditional digital mixtape sites

21K social media shares for the Bundle mixtape link

Which generated more, and more addressable, fans:

41K Jet Life email leads were generated

5K double opt-in email subscribers were added to the crew's list

Which substantially increased pre-tour ticket and merch sales:

Jet Life saw a 500% increase in growth across their apparel website, as a result of links packaged inside the mixtape.

And the crew experienced a 30% increase in advance tour tickets sold, as a result of the mixtape release

The mixtape is dead. Long live the mixtape. Jet Life took an established hip hop format, and, via BitTorrent, tweaked it for the 21st century: making it work, and work harder, for their music release.
