DT:  Tell us about Shandra Love! Where are you from? How long you've been writing?

Sherene Love

SL: I'm a native of Oklahoma, currently living in Houston. I'm the sixth of nine children and since I have five brothers it was always sporting season around our house. Writing became my escape and I starting writing poetry and short stories as a very young child.

DT: What motivates you?
SL: I was motivated by my little sister who is now deceased. She critiqued my work and gave feed back when needed. She was really the driving force for my work

DT:  Was it difficult for you to work with your little sister's daughter?
SL:  Not at all! A year after my sister's death my brother told me I should look at my niece's work. I was so surprised for my niece, fifteen year-old Sherene is quite good. Her writing is profound and through her writing she is embracing the world of writing. Her friends at school are impressed and the entire experience has been good for her. She is working on another book now.

DT: Do you have any previous works?

Less of Me, More of You: The Gift of an Aunt by Shandra and Sherene Love

SL: As a matter of fact, I have two. The first was titled, "My Journey Back"; and the second was, "Universal Moods", which I wrote along with four message board regulars.

DT: What are readers and reviewers saying about, "Less of Me, More of You: The Gift of an Aunt"?
SL:  Readers are really impressed with an aunt and a niece writing together. For an aunt to put things on hold and take time for a niece really strikes a cord with readers. Once they pick the book up and read the poetry they are moved!
