Wow, what a blessing! The writing team of Boggs and Mosely has given the literary world a one-two-punch. “He Says, She Says” has inspirational poems for almost every occasion.
While “He Says” talks of challenges, changes, love and blackness, Mosely also offers spiritual pieces such as, “Open The ‘Heaven Doors’,” and “The Love of Jesus.”
In “She Says”, Boggs talks about childhood, love, and church choirs. “Circle of Life” speaks of a girl who becomes a woman who cares for her infirmed mother. “Communing With Nature” is a calming piece which speaks of the splendor of God. “Denial” goes to a place where most people have been, whether it was dealing with domestic abuse or family or work issues.
Boggs has pieces on principles and pastors, fear, friends, and fathers, and she even includes words about horses and dogs.
Grab a cup of tea and get cozy, “He Says, She Says” will renew your spirit and uplift your day!
Interview:
DT: When did you start writing and why?
NB: I started writing poetry after I met my ex-boyfriend who was a poet. I really had no aspirations or intentions of writing poetry until I met him, but after we met, I suddenly began to write poetry and the people I shared it with seemed to really think it was good! I really didn't expect people to relate to it so much, but I was pleasantly surprised that they did!

DT: What did you hope to accomplish with He Says, She Says?
NB: After seeing the response of the people with whom I shared my poetry, I decided to publish it in hopes that it would comfort, motivate, or inspire people who have gone through "storms" in life. I also wanted to acknowledge some of the happy times of life, i.e., birth of children, a mother's love, childhood memories, etc. Some things I have to imagine because I have not, personally, experienced them, but people often say that I have captured their feelings about various subjects, including those which I have never experienced, and I hope that is true.
DT: What has the response been thus far?
NB: Very positive! I really have been surprised at the response. I didn't realize that people would relate so deeply to the things that I wrote, but I am thankful for that. I have had numerous people ask me to make posters of their favorite poems, particularly the ones about children (births or adoption).
DT: What's next for Nancie Boggs? Any upcoming signings? Seminars? Workshops?
NB: I am planning on doing an anthology. What I want to write about is "overcoming obstacles". I would like to get a number of people from different walks of life (business people, clergy, writers, other professionals and some non-professionals) to write about a major obstacle they have overcome and explain how they did it. I want people to know that we ALL have obstacles no matter who we are, but those of us who are still here, have all overcome them! I am looking to include sections on personal, professional, and health-related obstacles that people have overcome. I hope it inspires people and makes them think "if they did it, I can do it too!"
I also have the following events scheduled for this summer:
Eastern Star Church's All-in-One Expo on Saturday, August 5, 2006 from 10am-4pm, signing. Wednesday, October 4, 2006 College Bookstore Association at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, author breakfast and signing. Featured speaker at the Poetry Salon at Greater St. Mark MBC on Friday, July 21, 2006 at 7pm! All appearances are in Indianapolis, IN.
DT: : Nancie, we thank you for this interview and we ask God to continue to bless you!
