I recently had the pleasure of reading "Healing The Breach" by Rosalind Stormer. I found it to be a wholesome tale, so I set out to go one on one with her for Blackrefer.com. Read her interview below:

DT: What made you decide to write a Christian fiction novel?
RS: I wanted to write Christian Fiction as an expression of my love for God. I wanted others to share in the precious gift that I have received. Principles that have helped me to become a better person day by day. During my tenure as a new member counselor at my church I was surprised at how difficult it was for people to make the transition from the natural to the spiritual realm. Our policy at church was to walk with new and seasoned converts, and it was there that I realized how little understanding we have of God and His principles. Christian Fiction became a venue for expressing God's love towards us, by learning and understanding his principles in novel form.

Healing The Breach
DT: I was totally drawn into the story of Jana and Grace. Did you borrow any characteristics from people you've known, or were they just part of your creativity?
RS: Jana and Grace were a composite of myself and others that I've known. In life we always seem to have the "strong" person who is neglected by those who are closest to them. Likewise, there are "weaklings" who rely on the strength of others. Weaklings take no responsibility for their frailties, and expect everyone around them to excuse their behavior. Many of my customers have told me that they have a Jana in their life, but to date no one admits to being a Jana themselves.

DT: In our relationships with friends and family we are often disappointed. Do you think that we should examine our friendships?
RS: The Bible says be as wary as a serpent, and as harmless as a dove, and I try to live by that. There are very few people that I embrace as friends. To have a true friend is as precious as gold, and everyone does not fit into that category. I rely on the Holy Spirit even in that area of my life. I have learned to be cautious in my dealings with others. I can be fooled, but God is never fooled. So I have learned to take everything straight to the altar and allow God to direct my steps.

DT: Jana was never there for Grace when major things were going on in Grace's life. What are your feelings about Grace forgiving all of the inattention from Jana?
RS: Grace's first responsibility was not to Jana, but to God. And if Grace was to call herself a Christian she had to be under God's authority. We cannot ignore God's principles. God doesn't ask us to forgive, He commands it, and if we decide that we can't forgive, then we ourselves can't be forgiven. In light of that, are we really willing to stand before a holy and just God and tell Him, "Sorry God, but I couldn't do it?" I'm not willing to take that chance.

DT: What's next for Rosalind Stormer?
RS:I am currently editing my second novel tentatively entitled, IN THE WRONG HANDS. Those are my plans, God willing, but I can't say for sure, because on more than one occasion He has changed my direction. IN THE WRONG HANDS is a story of a woman who now saved, doesn't go back to clean up the havoc she has wreaked in the life of others. Instead Eula Mae Jackson chooses to hide conveniently behind the facade of religion.
