My name is Danyelle Randolph. I was born and raised in Chicago but currently reside in St. Paul, Minnesota. I look forward to having the opportunity to broaden my many talents and to hopefully share them with the rest of the community. My biggest inspiration is my loving family.

    Danyelle Randolph
    (RIP) Dedicated to Brian

There has been times that I didnt get a chance to say goodbye. Too busy thinking about myself but inside I damn near cried. How I wish you would've known how much I cared about you. Feelings of regret and sorrow was seemingly hard to subdue. Reminiscing over a once innocent childhood and to now have your life taken away before your time. Now your plans have taken a detour, forever in the grave you lie.

    I Am
    By Mocha Sistah

I am a dictionary of rhymes.
I am lyrics in motion constant moving and singing joyful tunes.
I am a thesaurus of pain but constantly use healing to balm
    my wounds.
I am a song of joy at times when others need to be uplifted.
I am a wheel of love constantly moving
I am a writer who loves pretty verses
And never rehearses her words when It is time to perform
Yet I somehow get it right
Sometimes I fight the struggle of me inside
To be me and not what everyone wants meTo be
I can be wicked as the fire under you... If you choose to be so be careful on How you proceed.
I am a momma/sisterfriend/nurturer who knows no boundaries.
I give until I bleed and then let God refill me
With his love so I can pay it all forward, you see.
I am the map of joy.
I am the sky of tears.
I am the rose that blooms slowly
    And doesn’t wilt.
I am the book of life flowing chapters that allow you to see parts of me raw and uncut.
I am the yellow light of morning.
I am the birth of new woman, unafraid of life’s negativity, and yet am the newborn child of life sweetly yawning.
I am incomparable because there is no one like me.
I want to be free yet struggling to be free.
I am incomplete a work in progress and still only me.

    Franklin Oliver,

    Hidden Truth
    By Franklin Oliver

There are angels all around us
    In innumerable guises
Wearing masks we fail to recognize
    Like Baucis and Philemon
    Dumb to the divinities
    Asking for our help
There is stardust all around us
    In everything you see
    All we are or do
    Or can ever become
    Wholly filled
    With the essence
    Of Heaven itself
There are angels all around us
There is stardust all around us

    Kitchen
    by Franklin Oliver

    I walked from the kitchen
    Slowly stopped and turned around
The gentle bubble of pots on the stove
    Sounded warm and beautiful
Inviting, so I went back in
Watching the lid dance over my soup
I noticed the dry, hot smell
Of cumin drowning in the sweet
    Black juice of the beans
I felt the smile on my face
    And wondered how many times
My granddad stood smiling in his kitchen
With the cornbread beginning to brown

    Betty J. Banks
    Rhyming Bible Truths
A Collection of Poems by Betty J. Banks

This small book is a powerful testimony to the author's faith. Based on Bible Truths, each poem has a reference to scripture. Some of her poems speak of the "Table of Nations", "Tower of Babel", "God's Covenant with Abraham", and even the "Priesthood of Aaron". She talks of the improper sacrifice by Cain, and even the ultimate sacrifice of Christ, the Wonderful Lamb of God!

The themes of redemption and hope resonated throughout the book, as Banks spoke of the love of God. This work can also be used as a Sunday School reference, or to prepare lesson plans for bible students. A superb offering!

    Going Home
    By Betty J. Banks

Just a few more miles to go and I'll be home.
Sometimes the road is rough and your heels begin to burn
You look into the distance and you see the old Milestone.
Your feet, dragging in slow motion,
and the sand is in your shoes.

    Take heart...look up the road!
    You're almost home.
    I see the finish line,
the place for me to cross.
The end is near, the radiance clear
    and I am almost home.

    Philippians 3:14
"I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."

    Everlasting Rest
    An Ode to Blue

    By Delores Thornton

I have entered Everlasting Rest and am on my way to glory
    But, I pause here
    Only to share
    My redemption story

I was born into a world of sin
Yet sought the One who'd overcome
I married, fathered, and was a friend to many
And fought till my time was done

    I smelled a million roses
    Shared kisses and family dreams
Through-out life amid sickness and strife
I battled hard to see my King

I thank God for delivering me
And setting me on a path called straight
I traveled through life on a wing and a prayer
Until I reached the Golden Gate

    There were certainly sleepless nights
    And tears which freely flowed
I remained steadfast, held onto my Saviour
    And let life's events unfold

To those who remain, live your life to the fullest
And know that you are blessed
Keep love in your hearts and a prayer on your lips
For life is only a test!

Gird yourselves with the weapons of God
Strive hard to do your best
Remember, I still love you as I always did
    But I needed Everlasting Rest

The world couldn't afford me Everlasting peace
Far away from pain and sorrow
My Lord had a built-in clause for my release
And hopes for a bright tomorrow

    So, my tomorrow has come
And I have concluded my quest
Now I wait in exaggerated anticipation
Until you join me in Everlasting Rest

    Pause "N" Praise
    By Delores Thornton

    I was in my stance
    I would take a chance
To break the ribbon in the air

    Who would have suspected
    That I had neglected
To bow this morning for prayer

    I got up my nerve
    I rounded the last curve
But the hurdle seemed much to high

    The runner to the left
    Was more sure of himself
    And easily passed me by

    I tallied the cost
    And thought I had lost
    But God sent Amazing Grace

And the fans in the stands
    Starting waving their hands
Alas! I had won first place
